Lee Davis Pottery

The marriage of form and function is celebrated in the work of Weaverville, NC potter Lee Davis. A long-time member of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild, Lee continues to produce beautiful and collectible white stoneware suitable for everyday use. He has taught and mentored two generations of potters in Western North Carolina, an area well known for handcrafts and pottery in particular. Lee generally only sells his work at WNC retail craft shows, so this is a rare opportunity to see his charming pottery.
Shown here is Lee's blue and white glaze combination, with patterns intended to mix and match. Designs range from animal motifs to flowers, leaves and garlands. The classic, fresh blue and white colors would be a perfect addition to a French Country kitchen.

How do you go about purchasing a piece of Lee Davis pottery?

Alice: Lee Davis does not ship his work - even for wholesale orders. I met him in Asheville, NC (he's from nearby Weaverville) at the Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands three years ago, but I do not see his name on the list for this summer's show which will take place next weekend. He is an older gentleman and may not be able to do as much any longer. His work is as charming as he is.

Thanks for the comment about my work and yes, I do ship. I am still making pottery as long as I am able but will not be doing craft shows, but selling out of my studio and also through selected galleries.

I would like to know if this Pottery Studio is still active. I bought a few pieces a number of years ago at the John C Campbell Folk School sale, and I just love them and would like to add some.
